Instant Confidence Bait Right Out Of The Box

In the 1930s an instant legend was born when Lauri Rapala made his first cast on Finland’s Lake Paijanne with the hand-carved forerunner of the Original Floating Rapala.

Fast forward over 75 years and little’s changed-the Floater still catches loads of fish and is considered a go-to bait by anglers across the globe.

Yet, Rapala’s lure designers are constantly working to develop the best possible baits at a price point anglers of all skill sets can afford.

In the case of the recently introduced BX Minnow, it started as a sketch on a napkin with the goal of creating the most durable, versatile, realistic and deadly hard bait on the market. What emerged from Rapala’s brain trust is the sum of sound heritage and modern technologies. The BX Minnow is but the first of a family already earning instant legend status, much like the very first Rapala.

Predator Proof
At its core, the new BX Minnow is a piece of history. Like Lauri Rapala’s first hand-carved lure, the BX is a balsa bait (BX stands for “Balsa Xtreme”), but with one huge difference from all other Rapala baits (and everything else on the market). It’s covered with a bullet-proof copolymer outer shell that withstands the dentistry of virtually every predator that swims, including freshwater’s apex Esox and saltwater killing machines like ‘cuda.

Rest assured that every part of the BX Minnow is designed and manufactured by Rapala in Finland-from the Olympian-strong split rings to the rebar-tough hook hangers and flesh-piercing black nickel VMC hooks. There’s no weak link here.

Add that the bait is sonically welded together to surgical-like tolerances, and it’s an instant confidence bait, right out of the box. Individually hand-tuned and tank-tested to run straight every time.

Mimics The Real Thing
On top of the BX Minnow’s rugged skin you’ll find it’s nearly anatomically correct, with 3D scales, lateral lines and gill plates. Designers also spent countless hours making sure the bait’s action mimics the real thing and can be fished to match forage the world over. They studied how minnows behave and captured nuances that most companies miss. Just like real forage fish, the BX Minnow’s head rises before the rest of the body when an angler pauses on the retrieve.

Plus, it’s just fishable. Depending on the speed of the retrieve, its unique rolling and wobbling action can be user defined. Fish it as a slash bait with longer twitches for irresistible side-to-side flash. Shorter twitches of the rod tip followed by pauses can simulate wounded prey. And like the Original Floater, the BX excels when trolled on a long line.

Swiss Army Knife Versatility
Whether you’re braving the brittle of the Arctic for mammoth char, entrenched in the monster-dwelling Amazon, pounding muscled pelagics or chasing monster bass, pike or walleyes, this is the one must-have hard bait for your bug-out bag. It’s a Swiss Army Knife, a ‘desert island’ pick-a must-have for any angler’s survival kit.

From backwaters to blue water, the BX stands alone.
