Want to catch an International Game Fish Association world-record fish? Better spool up Sufix® line and tie on a Rapala® lure.
More IGFA world-record fish were caught on Rapala lures last year – 11 – than on any other brand of lure. And 19 world-record saltwater catches and 3 world-record freshwater fish were landed on Sufix line, a Rapala brand. Additionally, 23 world-record fish were weighed on Rapala scales.
“Whether you’re fishing for weekend recreation or a world record, your chances are better with a Rapala tied on,” said Rapala USA President Tom Mackin. “The world over, Rapala lures are the most trusted and relied upon baits to bag big fish and beat records – as well as fill limits – week in and week out.”
Notable amongst Rapala’s 2013 world records was that one came on a new lure released that same year, a Scatter Rap. In Finland on July 19, Jasmin Vataja caught a light-line (1 kg. test) world-record zander trolling a Scatter Rap on the Baltic Sea’s Airisto inlet. Zander look and taste a lot like walleye.
Rapala lures are responsible for more IGFA world records than any other lure brand in history, holding world-record catches on every continent except Antarctica. Rapala is the first and only lure manufacturer to receive an IGFA Lifetime Achievement Award.
“But we’re not resting on our laurels,” Mackin said. “Even now, we’re developing new lures and lines sure to land new world-record fish.”
